Fortunate enough to be brought up in a stunning part of the world, and encouraged from a young age to travel and learn languages, I have decided to try to experience as many countries in the world as my life will allow before writing them off as no returns.
Having given up waiting to be joined by others, has resulted in making many of my trips on my own, with my backpack and phone to assist me. To cover the distances my preference is to avoid flying, resulting in plenty of "me time".
Motivating further is the country counting apps available allowing me to keep tabs on my locations. I am starting on number 63 retrospectively, as I had written on my phone as I went through this journey, starting the concept of the blog!
I frequently use Facebook to relay the trips through, but with an awareness that many of my friends and family have not connected with this form of interaction, I decided to attempt a blog to allow them to travel, if they wish, the cyber way! With all this "me time" I now have the opportunity to live my journey and memories through text too.
Over the next 5 months, I aim to cover 10 new countries, all be in briefly in some cases, but with the intention of experiencing their culture and flavours (especially home made wines!) sufficiently to decide if they are worth the return trip!
My challenge as I venture further afield is the unfamiliar (non-europeans) languages and script in many of future destinations, but I am sure this will only add to the entertainment as you may read!!!
